Hoai Linh did not celebrate his birthday like every year because on the same day the family of artist Chi Tai held a funeral ceremony in the United States, on December 18.
Many friends and colleagues congratulated Hoai Linh (1969) on his personal page. On talk show History is afraid to speak, issued the same day, Duong Trieu Vu said, “Chi Tai’s family is mourning Hoai Linh’s birthday. Anh Linh blames the late artist for always wanting to stay with him, even when he dies.”

After completing Chi Tai’s funeral in Ho Chi Minh City, Hoai Linh stayed home to rest for the past week. When many viewers and friends worried that he would look thin at his colleagues’ funeral, Hoai Linh said he was fine. What he thinks the most now is how to comfort Chi Tai’s wife. He said, “After the funeral in America is over, Phuong Loan will feel very lonely, so I will have to replace Mr. Tai to make her happier.”

For a long time, Hoai Linh and Chi Tai are not only good co-stars, but they also maintain a beautiful friendship in real life. In 1999, when the late artist returned to Vietnam, his wife sent her husband to Hoai Linh to take care of him. 20 years ago, when he was a musician in the Chi Tai brothers band, Chi Tai met Hoai Linh on a stage abroad. Seeing the charming and funny conversation with Chi Tai’s “cheeky” face, Hoai Linh offered to invite him to be a stage partner. Since then, the two have been close, happy, sad, and worried together. In all the shows of the late comedian, there is Hoai Linh.
Hoai Linh can clearly tell the bad habits of his colleagues, such as snoring. While on tour in the same room, Hoai Linh has to take medicine to sleep easily. At all of the best friend’s birthday celebrations, Chi Tai was present. He often went to the house to play the piano for Hoai Linh’s mother to sing.

The Chi Tai prayer ceremony in the United States took place on December 18 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Fountain Valley, California. The funeral began on the morning of December 19. In the afternoon of the same day, the coffin was brought to cremation.
Chi Tai died of a stroke on the afternoon of December 9. In Ho Chi Minh City, the visit to the late artist was organized by Hoai Linh on behalf of his family with thousands of spectators and many colleagues saying goodbye to him.
