On December 24, the Phu Nhuan district police (Ho Chi Minh City) were investigating and clarifying that a railway accident occurred in the area, killing a woman on the spot on the train.

According to initial information, around 11:45 am on the same day, the SE22 train has a Saigon – Da Nang route to move to Km1724 + 254 (the section near the intersection between the railway and Hoang Van Thu Street, Ward 8, Phu Nhuan District) beat a 52-year-old woman (from Quang Ngai) who was crossing the road to look for clothes. As a result, the woman died on the spot.

After the accident occurred, the train stopped to make a search. The train was blocking Hoang Van Thu Street, causing traffic congestion in both directions.

According to the locals, this woman sells lottery tickets and stays nearby. As the woman crossed the track, people found the train coming, many people chanted but the victim did not listen.

Upon receiving the news, Phu Nhuan District Police were present to handle the scene. At 1:00 p.m. on the same day (December 24), the body of the victim who was run over by a deceased train was transferred to the morgue for investigation. The accident caused SE22 to arrive half an hour late to continue its journey.
