On October 18, the entire village 3 – Thanh Tan was deeply flooded, some places were flooded more than 2 m. Duc Duc’s house has risen more than 1 m, the water has risen rapidly. To ensure safety, Mr. Duc asked his brother to use a small boat to take 2 children to their grandparents’ house (1 km away) to avoid flooding.
Unexpectedly, the boat left the house about 300 meters, unfortunately it encountered big waves, strong winds caused the small boat to capsize, both children were submerged in the flood water.
Mr. Hoang Van Thanh (the two children’s uncle) recounted lamentingly: “Hearing the cry for help, I was not far away, I immediately ran off, with a few more people diving continuously to search for 2 children. But the water was too big for more than 30 minutes to find the bodies of the two.
After the bodies were found, the bodies of the two children were brought back to their grandparents’ home temporarily to await the funeral. “Duc’s house was flooded at that time, so we had to take our two children to our grandparents’ temporary home. Too bad, they have that house but even when they die they can’t go home … ”- Anh Thanh said bitterly.

When the grandparents came home, the bodies of the two children were placed on the bed, the four legs of the bed had to be covered with bricks.
Everyone in village 3 – Thanh Tan felt sorry, instead of the children leaving while the floods ran, lost due to the flood, but now they cannot rest in their own home.
“My grandparents’ house also flooded, but it was better than Mr. Duc’s, so we brought our 2 children here to find a temporary place for them to lie down. Wait for the water to recede to be buried later ”- shared a neighbor.
Mr. Duc and Thom’s family are farmers with extremely difficult circumstances. Fortunately, they gave birth to two healthy, handsome but painful children when they lost them both at the same time due to the floods.

At the side of the coffin, Mr. Duc sat in a daze, crying muffled in his neck, not speaking. Feet deep in the floodwater for several days. Carrying water, wearing cold clothes, just sat like that, lost 2 children, then knew what else to love.
And Thom, the mother of the two children, cried a lot. He cried until he passed out, when he woke up he cried again. She kept screaming for the names of the two children. She begged 2 children to follow her. “Losing 2 children, why do you live for me, Quan! … Darling! …”.
On the afternoon of October 20, Mr. Tran Duc Hien, Chairman of the Van Hoa Commune People’s Committee, Tuyen Hoa District (Quang Binh), said that this town had just had 1 case. dead because of the rain flood.
Local authorities and the people take care of Ms. Le Thi Thu’s affairs
The victim was Ms. Le Thi Thu (81 years old, from Bau Soi Village, Van Hoa Commune).
At around 8:00 pm on October 20, when the floodwaters had partially receded, the Van Hoa commune authorities and local people flocked to Ms. Le Thi Thu’s home to help clean up the home and overcome the consequences caused by floods. Currently, Ms. Thu is dead on the ground.
Before that, on the night of October 19, the rescue team came to Ms. Thu’s home to help her evacuate the floods, but Ms. Thu said that she could take care of herself, that she did not climb the stairs with the floods. According to the authorities and the local population, perhaps when the flood water receded, Ms. Thu came from upstairs to prevent the flooding and went down, moved her house and fell, causing her death.
Ms. Le Thi Thu is known to be the wife of a martyr and currently lives alone to worship her in-laws in Bau Soi village. The local government and the people are concentrating on his funeral.
Mr. Dang Dai Tinh, Chairman of the Le Thuy District People’s Committee, said that after receiving the news, he instructed Thanh Thuy Commune to send officials to offer condolences and care for his family. Sprint, the district will send people to visit directly later.
