This afternoon, October 11, there was a conference to announce the Politburo’s decision on staff work. Whereby, The Politburo decided to appoint Mr. Le Quoc Phong to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee for the period 2020-2025 and introduced the election as Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee.

On behalf of the Politburo, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organizing Committee, handed the decision to Mr. Le Quoc Phong.

Mr. Le Quoc Phong is president of a group of young delegates of the National Assembly, is a member of the XIV National Assembly of Vietnam, belongs to the delegation of the National Assembly of Binh Thuan province, first secretary of the Central Committee of the X and XI Youth League ; Chairman of the National Committee for Vietnamese Youth; President of the Vietnam Students Association, Session IX; President of the Vietnam Youth Union, term VII; I was Alternate member of the Central Committee of the XII Party, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Union.
Before that, Mr. Le Minh Hoan, Secretary of the Dong Thap Party Provincial Committee, was transferred to the central government to serve as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Mr. Le Quoc Phong was born on 3-5-1978, hometown of Hanoi. He has a master’s degree in biology and high-level political theory.
– From September 1993 to September 1995, Mr. Le Quoc Phong was a member of the Executive Committee of Le Hong Phong Specialized High School, Ho Chi Minh City.
– From March 1997 to November 1999, he was a member of the Standing Committee, undersecretary of the Youth Union, president of the Student Association of the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City), member of the Central Committee. Vietnam Student Association, member of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association Secretariat.
– From November 2002 to December 2004, he was Secretary of the Union of the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City), member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Students Association, member of the Secretariat of the Student Union. Ho Chi Minh City, Member of the Executive Committee of the HCM City Youth Union.
– From January 2005 to September 2007, he was a member of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, Deputy Director of the Professional University Committee of the Youth Union, Secretary of the Civil Affairs Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union , member of the National University of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association.

– On the afternoon of December 21, 2013, at the IV Conference of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Session X elected Mr. Le Quoc Phong as Secretary of the Central Youth Union.
– In December 2013, at the 9th National Congress of Student Unions, Mr. Le Quoc Phong was elected central president of the IX Vietnam Students Association, period 2013-2018.
– In January 2016, at the XII National Congress of the Party, he was elected alternate member of the Central Committee of the Party.
– On April 21, 2016 at the X Meeting of the Central Committee, Mr. Le Quoc Phong was elected First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union.
– On 12-12-2017, First Secretary of the Youth Union was re-elected.
– In 2018, he was elected president of the Vietnam Youth Union, period VII.
– In August 2020, Mr. Le Quoc Phong was re-elected Secretary of the Party Central Committee.
