On February 15, the police investigation and the Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City) Police Agency arrested Phan Thanh Minh (33 years old, living in Thu Duc City) and handed over the files and suspects to the Criminal Police Department. Ho Chi Minh City Police continued to investigate the killing behavior.
Two victims in the case were identified as Mr. Phan Tan Hong (45, biological brother of the suspect Phan Thanh Minh) and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung (48, both living in Thu Duc city).
According to the initial investigation, around 8:15 a.m. on February 12, people discovered the bodies of two dead men in front of an unidentified house on 8th Street, Phuoc Hiep Street, Long Truong District, Thu Duc City.
Upon receiving the news, the Thu Duc city police force coordinated with the relevant professional units to examine the scene, seize a body, record testimonies and investigate the case.
Upon examination of the scene, two victims were identified as Mr. Hong and Mr. Hung. The bodies of the two victims had numerous wounds affected by foreign forces, suspected of having been killed, the police investigated and searched urgently.
Through professional measures, the authorities quickly identified, discovered and arrested 32-year-old Phan Thanh Minh, who lives in Thu Duc city.
At the investigative agency, Minh initially confessed between 11 and 2 pm (New Years Eve), Minh had a drink with Mr. Phan Tan Hong (Minh’s brother), Nguyen Thanh Hung, and a man named Nam.
While drinking, Nam refused to argue with Mr. Hung and Minh, so Nam left first. The rest of the tables are Mr. Hong, Mr. Hung and Minh.
Due to being drunk and drinking and prior to that, Minh had taken drugs, thus he had a “stone wall” attack. Minh mistakenly thought that Mr. Hong and Mr. Hung were a group of people who had conflict with him, so Minh took turns hitting and kicking Mr. Hong, Mr. Hung from the house to the street. ..
Without stopping yet, Minh took a piece of dirt in front of the house, wrapped it in his jacket, then used it to hit him many times on the head of Mr. Hung, Mr. Hong until they both lay down, then Minh put them inside to sleep. …
Due to multiple serious injuries, Mr. Hung and Mr. Hong died on the spot.
