On the afternoon of February 17, at the meeting of the Steering Committee for the prevention of the COVID-19 epidemic in the city of Hanoi, the representative of the Hanoi Department of Health proposed that the Steering Committee review and evaluate all the people who were returning from Hai Duong within 14 years. days from 0:00 on 2-2 to 0:00 on February 16 and monitor health at home.
According to the Department of Health, all people returning from the outbreak (less than 14 days) from the provinces should be included in the list and sampled for testing.
Hanoi Health Department Deputy Director Hoang Duc Hanh said that since the beginning of January, more than 18,000 people have returned to Hanoi from Chi Linh (Hai Duong) and the outbreaks in Quang Ninh. All these cases were sampled for the test, of which 4 were positive, patients 1694, 1814, 1815 and 1819, and the rest were negative.
From January 15 until now, the city of Hanoi has screened 1,517 people returning from Cam Giang (Hai Duong) district. The Hanoi health sector has sampled and tested 1,150 people, of whom 437 have negative results, the rest are awaiting results.
Currently, the forces are urgently screening and examining people returning from the epidemic area in accordance with the regulations.
Commenting on the situation, Mr. Hanh said that in the days after Tet, people returning to Hanoi to live and work can bring germs to the city. In some areas, communities still have a phenomenon of crowding and unnecessary travel, and some people don’t even wear masks. Therefore, the health sector believes that in the near future it may continue to register new cases.
To proactively prevent epidemics, the Hanoi Department of Health said that the city of Hanoi will continue to expand the scale of screening tests in large areas at risk, especially industrial zones, areas with specialized specialists, foreign families living, working and areas related to the outbreak.
At the meeting, some districts also proposed to test all the people of Hai Duong.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the vice chairman of the Hanoi City People’s Committee, Chu Xuan Dung, agreed with the recommendations of the health sector, the city extended the tests for people from Hai Duong to Hanoi from 0:00 from February 2 to 16-2.
“Therefore, those who return to Hanoi 14 days before the Hai Duong social gap across the province will be sampled for testing,” Dung said, calling for expanded random testing in industrial zones and factories, manufacturing area.
