On September 21, the Hai Duong Disease Control Center said that patient 972 (resident of 170 Nguyen Van Linh, Thanh Binh District, Hai Duong City was involved in the 36 Ngo Quyen outbreak) after being treated and discharged on September 1, re-positive for SARS-CoV-2.

Before that, this patient was an F1 outbreak 36 Ngo Quyen and was placed in medical quarantine on August 14 in the dormitory of Hai Duong University. On August 17, the test results showed that the patient was positive for SARS-CoV-2 and was treated at Hai Duong Province Hospital for Tropical Diseases. After 4 negative tests, on September 1, the patient was discharged and continued in quarantine for 14 days at his home.

On September 19, samples were taken from the patient and they tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. Results confirmed by the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology on September 20 also showed that the patient was positive for SARS-CoV-2.

Currently, the patient is in normal health, has no signs or symptoms of the disease, and is being treated at Hai Duong Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

With regard to this patient, on September 19 the authorities took samples to analyze the patient’s relatives, including: his wife, two children and the employee, all gave negative results. The authorities have instructed family members to isolate themselves, monitor health at home, regularly clean the house and household items with an antiseptic solution.

Currently, Hai Duong has 177 cases in quarantine, of which 134 cases are concentrated in isolation in medical facilities, hotels and 34 isolated cases at home.

The newsletter of the National Steering Committee for Disease Control on the morning of September 21 said there were no new cases of COVID-19. So far, it has been 19 days since Vietnam has registered no cases in the community.

As of 6 am on September 21, Vietnam had a total of 691 COVID-19 cases due to household infections; including 551 new cases related to Da Nang from July 25 to the present. 942 / 1,068 cases have been cured; therefore, only 126 COVID-19 cases continue to be treated in medical facilities.

There are more than 24,000 people in quarantine against the epidemic.
