In June 2020, India and China announced the first casualties on their borders, with 20 Indian soldiers and several Chinese killed in heavy fighting in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley.

In an attempt to break through the ongoing clash in Ladakh, India and China held their ninth military talks yesterday (January 24).

According to the Indian Times, China has built new roads, surface-to-air missile launch points and helicopters at various points stretching from Ladakh to Arunachai Pradesh. In addition, Beijing also established settlements in the occupied but contested areas east of the line.
