According to Colonel Tung, Quan was arrested while hiding in the Ha Hoi commune area (Thuong Tin district), where the suspect used to go to do drugs.
On October 26, the investigating agency determined that Nguyen Xuan Trung (35, a resident of Van Phu Commune, Huong Tin) was the main suspect in the case.
At the investigative agency, Trung claimed that around 6 p.m. on October 23, Trung invited his addict, Quan, to steal property at a project in the Thuong Tin district area. On the way to sell the stolen property, Trung saw student Hien standing on the phone on the Nhue river embankment road in the territory of the Nguyen Trai commune, and she had the intention of stealing the property.
Trung told Quan: “Brother, there is a girl standing there, not knowing what to do, our brothers push her through the ditch and take the car.” With Quan’s consent, Trung moved to push the student down the bank of the Nhue River. When Hien yelled “forgive me”, Trung continued jumping and drowning the victim for about 10 minutes, leaving the victim immobile.
After that, Trung pushed the born female to a river bed and went ashore to collect the victim’s cell phone and electric bike to sell. The phone costs 500,000 VND, the electric bike costs 2.8 million VND.
At 9 p.m. on October 23, Trung and Quan went to the Ha Hoi cemetery area to do drugs. Here, Trung divided the Army by 700,000 VND. On October 26, knowing that Trung was summoned by the police, Quan fled the area.
On October 27, the Hanoi city police found the body of student Hien in the Nhue River, about 3 km from the scene. After completing the forensic procedures, the victim’s body was turned over to the family to take charge of the incident.
