On his personal Facebook page, the forward who scored 8 goals for Saigon FC in the V-League this season wrote: “Goodbye to our SGFC teammates, brothers and fans!

I have been very fortunate to be able to work with you on this team, we are like a family. After the end of the 2020 season, I have been thinking a lot between choosing between leaving or staying because SGFC has always been a special part of my heart.

It is very difficult to make the decision to leave my second family but personally I want to have new experiences, new challenges in my player’s life. I hope my brothers and fans who love SGFC understand my decision. We may not have the same roof, but SGFC is forever in my heart.

We wish that the members who stay here will always put forth effort and help SGFC reach new heights. Thanks to the coaches, good brothers and to all the members of SGFC for always helping me in my life, training and competitions.

I love my friends very much.

Thus, Geovane followed in the footsteps of his teammate Pedro Paulo to say goodbye to Saigon FC. The remaining foreign soldier from Saigon, South Korean midfielder Ahn Byung Keon, is also rumored to be leaving this team, he has yet to officially speak.
