On the afternoon of October 28, the People’s Committee of Nam Tra My District, Quang Nam Province, said that due to the impact of Typhoon No. 9, there was heavy rain and wind in this town, causing serious damage. In particular, around 1:30 pm on the same day, a mountain landslide occurred in the area near the center of the district and buried many houses.

During the mountain landslide, 4 people were buried by the ground and rocks fell from the mountain, but luckily they crawled out for so little that they escaped death. After the landslide occurred, the Nam Tra My district government evacuated about 100 affected households to safety.

According to the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper reporter, Typhoon No. 9 caused strong winds in Quang Nam from the end of 27 to the afternoon of October 28. After the storm passed, many areas of Quang Nam province suffered heavy rains. People’s houses were damaged, roofs flew everywhere, trees fell.
