The defendant Nguyen Hoang Trung, Chung’s private driver, was sentenced to 24 months in prison.
Defendant Nguyen Anh Ngoc, 46, a former deputy chief of the editorial department of the Hanoi People’s Committee Office, was sentenced to 18 months in prison on the same charge of “seizing state secret documents”.

The indictment showed that former investigator Pham Quang Dung had planned and repeatedly attempted to steal confidential documents.
