On the morning of October 21, many people in the village of Bhlooc used a winch to slide down a rope that crossed the river to the other side. Many witnesses couldn’t help but get nervous because the cable could break and throw people across the river into the fast-flowing river at any moment.

Bhlooc Village is located across the A Vuong River, passing through Bhalee Commune, Tay Giang District. Currently this town has 42 households with 162 people. For a long time, people crossed the river banks with a suspension bridge inverted by the state, but this life-saving bridge was destroyed by floods on September 18 during an unprecedented flood in Tay Giang due to the influence of storm number 5.

Tay Giang District People’s Committee Vice Chairman Le Hoang Linh said that not only the bridge over Bhlooc village, but also torrential rains for a month, have damaged more than 20 bridges connecting rivers and streams in this district. , of which 10 are long. trying to sustain serious damage, people moved from side to side, some cable-stayed bridges were completely ripped away by flooding, and people in many residential areas were isolated.

In particular, the bridge in the village of Bhlooc was broken by the flood, so every day people have to come and go by raft or swim across the river. As for the people connecting the cable to pass, it was very dangerous, from what the authorities warned, but many people still cross the river by cable.

The village of Bhlooc also has many students who have to cross the river to go to school. When the bridge collapsed, the children were sent to families close to the school to go to school, not home.

“The Bhlooc bridge has been completely damaged, so it has to be built and costs at least more than 2 billion VND. The floods have damaged infrastructure, roads and bridges so much that repair is now exceeded. Our capacity “- said Mr. Le Hoang Linh.
