Fire covered a 33-story building in South Korea in the middle of the night

The incident took place around 11:07 p.m. local time, when a fire broke out on the 12th floor of a building located in the Dal Dong district in the city of Ulsan, southeastern Korea. The flames then quickly engulfed the building, according to the page busan.com.

Footage of the fire showed smoke rising violently from the fire as many pieces of cement fell from the building onto the street.

Strong winds were thought to contribute to the rapid flash of the flames. A nearby shopping center also caught fire, but was extinguished.

When the fire broke out, the city of Ulsan fire force raced against time to evacuate residents who lived in the building’s 136 apartments.

Some local news sites quoted firefighters at the scene as saying that most of the people who lived in the building had been quickly relocated to safety.

According to the Ulsan Municipal Fire Department, some 15 people were injured and 43 stranded people were evacuated to the roof of the building to be rescued.

Currently, no Vietnamese people are registered to live inside this 33-story building.
