Border guards coordinated with local authorities and villagers to spread nets in the flooded stream to search for the woman who was washed away.

At noon on September 18, the Dakrong district leader confirmed that a person in the area was washed away by floodwaters.

Before that, at 10:30 am on the same day, Mr. Ho Van Hich (27 years old, resident of A Pun Village, Ta Rut Commune, Dakrong District) was riding a motorcycle with his wife, Ho Thi N (26 years) from the field.

When crossing the overflowing road, both husband and wife Hich and their motorcycle were washed away downstream. Mr. Hich was able to swim to shore, but Ms. N was not there.

At 12 noon, the motorcycle was found and Ms. N is still missing. Currently, the Ta Rut commune government, La Lay’s International Border Guard force, and people are using nets across the flooded stream to search for Ms. N.

It is known that due to the influence of Typhoon No. 5, in Ta Rut commune area of ​​Dakrong district, the precipitation is 254mm. Heavy rains make the water rise, causing local flooding of some roads.
