According to Ayman al-Sayed Salem, head of the thoracic department of the Qasr al-Ainy Hospital (under the direction of Cairo University with a history of more than 100 years of establishment in Egypt), the most common symptom in infected patients. Dr. Salem recommends strengthening the body’s immune system, getting enough sleep, and drinking plenty of fluids. He explained that the focus of COVID-19 treatment is the use of plasma, antibodies, and anti-inflammatory drugs.

The COVID-19 Committee of the Egyptian Ministry of Health recently announced the treatment regimen for COVID-19 patients after a better understanding of the new variants and their behavior. This is the fourth regimen used in the country since the outbreak.

In addition to changing treatment methods, the Egyptian Ministry of Health also renewed the classification to ensure that patients recover from 7 to 10 days of treatment. The drugs used include antiviral drugs, antimalarial drugs, and antibiotics, as well as drugs to enhance immunity.

According to the statistics site COVID-19 Worldometer, Egypt currently has about 20,000 cases in treatment out of a total of almost 140,000 cases. More than 7,600 Egyptians have died from COVID-19 since the start of the epidemic.
