Encountering a 70kg crocodile lazily floating in the Xang River (Lap Vo district, Dong Thap), the fish has not yet been attacked, people use electricity to arrest and report to local authorities.
The large crocodile floating lazily in the Xang River was discovered by the people of Binh Thanh Trung Commune (Lap Vo District) on the morning of October 18. Soon after, many electricity users caught the crocodile, which weighed 70 kg.

Regarding the above incident, Mr. Dang Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the Binh Thanh Trung Commune People’s Committee, confirmed the information and sent officials to clarify the matter. The commune leaders said they will make recommendations to the Dong Thap provincial FPD to make a record of the incident.

The crocodile swims to shore
According to the original information, this crocodile was bought by Mr. Phan Thanh N. (61 years old, Tan An Village, Binh Thanh Trung Commune) bought with the intention of breeding. Not long ago, Mr. N. bought 2 crocodiles (1 male, 1 female) for breeding, but due to the unsafe barrier, the female escaped.

According to Mr. Dung, Mr. N.’s family raising crocodiles is spontaneous and does not inform the local authorities. B40 net fences are not guaranteed, so alligators can easily escape into the natural environment.
Fortunately, according to a villager, the crocodile has not posed a danger to the local population. However, many people suggested that there should be a stricter management direction in the breeding of dangerous animals like crocodiles.
