With police on watch, Myanmar authorities unearthed the 19-year-old girl’s grave, who became a symbol of the anti-coup protest movement after she was shot to death while wearing an “Everything will be fine.”
The body of a girl named Kyal Sin was removed on March 5 and returned. The tomb was later sealed, local news outlet Mizzima reported.
The Reuters news agency contacted the army and police, but received no response.

A resident who visited the grave on March 6 told Reuters the cement was still dry; discarded gloves, rubber boots, surgical shirt; there are places where there are still stains of blood.
A witness who lived near the grave said he saw a group of at least 30 people excavating the grave Friday night.

“They took out the coffin, placed the body on a bench and placed a brick under the head,” said the witness, who is not afraid of being implicated.
“People who seem to be surgeons have done something to the body. They took a small piece of the body and showed it to him.”

Kyal Sin passed away with a bloody head wound. The media had previously reported that Kyal Sin was shot and killed by the police.

The authorities are now investigating the death of Kyal Sin and will inform them immediately.
Many Burmese people attended Kyal Sin’s funeral on March 4. He became a symbol of the anti-coup protest movement after being shot dead.
Kyal Sin was among 38 people killed on Wednesday (March 3), the bloodiest day since protests against the coup broke out, in a campaign to suppress the police protest.
