Hanoi City Police prosecuted the case and the defendants to investigate the illegal transportation of nearly 30 billion VND overseas.
Decision to prosecute 6 defendants including: Pham Anh Tuan, Nguyen Thi Nga, Nguyen Thi Nguyet, Nguyen Van Thang, Nguyen Van Thuc, Nguyen Thi Ha to investigate the crime Illegal transportation of goods and currency across the border under article 189 of the Penal Code, issued by the Hanoi police on September 25.
The initial investigation determined that Thang and his accomplices set up many companies to present a temporary import for re-export, taking advantage of the illegal cross-border transportation of goods and currency. The project is expanding, so the police refuse to give details.
From this case, the secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Vuong Dinh Hue, sent a letter of merit, recognizing the achievements of the Investigative Police Agency, the Hanoi Police. The Secretary assessed this as a serious and complicated case that developed over a long time. Furthermore, the defendants’ tricks are very sophisticated to illegally transfer large amounts of money from Vietnam to conceal other criminal acts.
“This feat contributes to ensuring security and order, for the peaceful life of the people and is important in a time when Hanoi and the entire country are making efforts to take action against Covid-19, suppressing security crimes. Guarantee security and order on the threshold of the XIII National Congress of the Party ”, said the letter of praise.
