4 new cases (BN1506-1509) are at the entrance, they are isolated in Phu Yen.

Case 1506 (BN1506): female, 49 years old, Vietnamese citizen, residing in Tan Phu neighborhood, district 7, HCMC.

Case 1507 (BN1507): 28-year-old male, Vietnamese citizen, residing in Linh Tay neighborhood, Thu Duc district, Ho Chi Minh city.

Case 1508 (BN1508): male, 65 years old, Vietnamese citizen, residing in Hung Phu District, Cai Rang District, Can Tho City.

Case 1509 (BN1509): female, 52 years old, Vietnamese citizen, residing in District 11, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City.

On January 1, 2021, the aforementioned patients from the United States in transit to South Korea entered Cam Ranh Airport on flight VN441, immediately quarantined and examined in Phu Yen province.

Test results at the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute on January 6, 2021 showed that patients were positive for SARS-CoV-2. Currently, patients are isolated and treated at Phu Yen General Hospital.

At the beginning of this flight, 7 positive cases were registered for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, isolated in Phu Yen province.

With 4 new patients, since the beginning of the epidemic season, 1,509 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Vietnam. Today 7-1, the team of experts including Prof. Nguyen Gia Binh (emergency resuscitation specialist) and Professor Ngo Quy Chau (respiratory specialist) had a consultation to support the treatment of 2 cases of severe illness.

Among them, there is 1 case (61-year-old female, recently returned from the US) with signs of a “cytokine storm” similar to the case of the British pilot and uncle of patient 17 before.
