In mid-June 2019, Tran Dinh Trong was injured in Hanoi FC’s guest game against HAGL in the V. League. He was diagnosed with a partial tear of the anterior diagonal ligament and stamping of the left knee ligament.

On April 27, Dinh Trong returned to PVF for rehabilitation, this time under the guidance of Vietnamese and French experts.
On May 21, FVP expert Nguyen Trong Huong said that Dinh Trong was waiting 3 months of recovery practice before playing again. However, Dinh Trong’s meniscus had a more complicated problem than expected, prompting him to go to the operating table for minor surgery in early August.
