In 2017, 18 people were also killed and 21 injured in an ongoing accident in Fuyang City, Anhui Province, China. Authorities said at least 30 cars collided on the road in Fuyang city.
Some passenger cars were crushed under the wheels of large trucks, while others caught fire and burned for 2 hours. There were blood stains on the car door and people wept bitterly. At that time, firefighters mobilized 14 fire trucks and 100 personnel to the scene.
Police confirmed that 18 people were killed and 21 injured in the accident, including 11 seriously injured. Authorities blamed the “fog” for the driver’s visibility. However, it is not excluded that air pollution was the cause of the accident.
Fatal traffic accidents are common in China, where traffic laws receive little attention. In 2015, the country registered more than 180,000 traffic accidents. Of which, almost 90 deaths were caused by violations of traffic laws.
