According to China’s ambassador to the UN, Zhang Jun, President Trump’s charges against Beijing were “unfounded” and “lies repeated thousands of times are still lies.”

Responding to reporters, Truong said: “While the international community is really struggling strongly with Covid-19, the United States spread the political virus in the United Nations General Assembly. (…) I must emphasize that the statement by States United does not fit the general atmosphere in the United Nations General Assembly.

In a statement that followed, Ambassador Zhang accused the United States of “abusing the UN podium to provoke clashes and cause divisions.”

In his speech to the United Nations General Assembly the same day, Chinese President Xi Jinping Beijing said it “has no intention of a cold war or a hot war with any country.”

“We will continue to narrow our differences and resolve disputes with other countries through dialogue and negotiation,” said President Xi Jinping.

In a message that appeared to be critical of President Trump, the Chinese leader urged the world to come together to deal with Covid-19 and let the World Health Organization (WHO) take the lead in this war.

“In the face of viruses, we must strengthen solidarity to overcome a crisis together. We must follow scientific guidance, giving a leadership role to WHO. Any attempt to politicize or discriminate the issue must be rejected, “said President Xi Jinping.

Earlier, President Trump announced the United States’ withdrawal from the WHO, at the same time accusing the organization of being Beijing’s “puppet.” Covid-19 made its first appearance in China late last year, and the Trump administration claimed that Beijing’s lack of transparency made the epidemic worse.

France has attacked both the US and China

French President Emmanuel Macron on September 22 hinted at the attacks by the United States and China in his speech at the UN General Assembly.

The 42-year-old leader has rejected the United States’ demand that all UN members reimpose international sanctions on Iran through a backward mechanism, arguing that the Trump administration is no longer authorized to take action. So since 2018, when they unilaterally withdrew the United States from the Iran Nuclear Deal.

Following the US decision now “will damage the solidarity of the Security Council, the integrity of the organization’s decisions and will increase tension in the region,” confirmed President Macron.

Referring to the economic, security and social losses caused by the Covid-19 epidemic, President Macron said that people around the world want leaders to cooperate and seek solutions. However, according to him, a split arose when major international organizations, such as the WHO, were accused by some countries of being complacent and controlled by others.

“The organization itself is in danger of being defenseless” as permanent members cannot meet during the Covid-19 peak “because 2 of these I want to show more confrontation, ”the owner of the Elysee Palace alluded to the United States and China.
