From 11 to 5, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development sent a dispatch to the provinces and cities on the notice of temporary cessation of fishing in China.

Consequently, the Chinese fisheries management agency announced that it would suspend fishing from 1 to 5 to 16 to 8 in waters, including areas under Vietnam’s sovereignty over the South China Sea.

Faced with the above situation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development asked the Popular Committees of the provinces and coastal cities to coordinate to direct and notify fishermen about this and affirm the Chinese warning to suspend fishing. with areas under Vietnam’s sovereignty over the South China Sea that are worthless.

The Ministry called on provinces and cities to encourage fishermen to maintain normal production within Vietnam’s territorial waters and to guide the organization of groups and teams when they go into production to support each other at sea.

For fishing vessels licensed to fish in the Gulf of Tonkin Common Fishing Area in 2019-2020, they are not allowed to operate in the marine area east of the Gulf of Tonkin boundary line.
