On 11/5, Hoang Mai District Police said they had decided to prosecute Nguyen Manh Quan (33, a resident of Thanh Thuy District, Phu Tho Province) for investigating the behavior. Fraudulent appropriation of assets.
In early April, through social media, Quan called himself a “magician”. After listening to a woman living in Hanoi talking about the change in facial expressions for hours, mood swings, psychological instability, the “teacher” offered to help.
Quan said the woman had a predestined relationship, “died”, so a “rescue” ceremony was necessary. Quan News, on 6/4, transferred Quan 2 million to his account for the ceremony, the next day he transferred another 3 million to buy gifts.
Seeing that the victim was easy to exploit, Quan requested to transfer almost 70 million dong in later times with the threat of “deaths”.
Not just money, Quan also requires victims to have sex to “get rid of the evil” on 8 and 15/4. Quan then requested an additional transfer of 15 million dong, but the victim disagreed and reported it to the police.
On the afternoon of 5/7, Quan went to the victim to receive money when the police arrested him.
