At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong said 4 cases involving a 1440 patient in Ho Chi Minh City include Mr. H., Mr. V., Mr. T., and Mr. K. Currently, Mr. H. is positive for COVID-19, it is quarantine and treatment.

TMr. V. in District 1 and Mr. T. in Hoc Mon District have been tested and found negative results for COVID-19. In the case of Mr. K., at present, the authorities have not determined where he is. According to initial information, Mr. K. picked up the car and stopped in District 9, authorities were searching.

Mr. Phong asked the departments and localities to promote epidemiological investigations, track cases of close contact with positive cases in the shortest possible time and take measures to prevent transmission; tFailure to urgently report people in the places where the case goes, suspending all these locations for decontamination and disinfection.

In addition, functional forces should strengthen inspection for temporary absence, timely detection of illegal entries.

According to Mr. Phong, out of two recent positive cases, the risk of disease transmission from illegal entry is quite large. The presidents of the popular committees of the districts must strictly administer the locality, inspect the cases of entry and residence in the locality. Strengthen the role of regional police, leaders of population groups, especially families with relatives abroad who return to Vietnam.

The chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee calls on people to promote the role of immediately monitoring and reporting to authorities when they detect people entering illegally for their own health and the community. Along with that, it is necessary to fully implement the 5K measures: masks, distance, no collection, disinfection, medical statement.

“Ho Chi Minh City creates the best conditions for people to greet the new year. If something goes wrong, Tet is not fun,” Phong said.
