At 9:30 pm, hundreds of people still gathered on the shore to watch the rescue force find people and cars in the river.
At 10:10 p.m., rescuers found the bodies of three men trapped in the car. There is only 1 person missing on the river.
At 10:30 p.m., the rescue team found the fourth fatality: a man on a motorcycle who fell into the river after the accident.
At 23 hours, information from the doctors of the Thanh Chuong District General Hospital, the victim who was a motorcycle driver was taken to the emergency room who also could not survive the injury. Thus, a serious accident caused 5 deaths, including 2 people on a motorcycle, 3 people in a car.
At 0am, 5-10am, the rescue team was able to recover the car on shore. The front of the car was badly damaged. The local government is carrying out the procedures to deliver the bodies of the victims to the funeral families.
Thanh Chuong District Police are blocking the two ends of the suspension bridge over the John River to examine the scene and investigate the cause of the accident.
Three victims were killed in the car: Mr. Nguyen The Tuan (40 years old), Le Dinh Anh (37 years old) and Le Dinh Quyet (47 years old), who lived in Thanh Nho Commune, Thanh Chuong District.
Two motorcycle riders, Dao Van Nam and Hoang Anh Tuan (28 years old), who lived in Thanh Lien Commune, Thanh Chuong District, were killed.
