During the investigation, Ngoc confessed that since November 2018, he began transporting drugs from Cambodia to Duong Ngoc Nhu Huynh (born 1987, living in Binh Thanh district, HCMC).

Every time he committed a crime, Ngoc received drugs at a store hired by Huynh in Svay Rieng province, Cambodia, about 2 km from the border checkpoint. Then Ngoc crossed the border back to Vietnam and returned it.

After each failed transfer, Ngoc receives a payment of 5 million VND. Before being arrested, Ngoc had trotted 19 times with the amount of 1 kg to 4 kg of drugs each time, making an illegal profit of 182 million VND.

With her behavior, Ngoc was sentenced to death by the People’s Court of Long An Province for the crime of illegal transport of narcotics. After the first instance ruling, Ngoc appealed for the sentence to be reduced.

At today’s trial, Ngoc asked to ease the sentence to raise a young child.
