Artist To Kim Hong, Nam Hung’s wife, said in early July, after attending the anniversary of the death of his adoptive mother, artist Phung Ha, that he suddenly had shortness of breath and had bloody stools. His family took him to Cho Ray Hospital (District 5), he had a chronic asthma attack and a long aortic aneurysm. He was assigned to heart surgery last year, but he was too weak, with high blood pressure, so he has not yet been treated. In one year, he lost more than 12 kg, only 48 kg.

The funeral was held in a private house in the Binh Tan district. He was buried in the Binh Duong Cemetery.
The artist Nam Hung was born in 1931. As a child, he and his father worked as an assistant in the reform group. Later, his father returned to Ha Nam to meet his mother and children and was left alone in the south. Loving the orphan, the artist Phung Ha adopted him and sent him to school. The passion for ancient singing has seeped into his blood ever since. He took on all the roles, from standing to running the flag, the soldiers, and the children on the Phung Hao stage. At age 16, he requested that his adoptive mother join Huong Hoa’s delegation for apprenticeship.
He belongs to the same generation as Ut Bach Lan, Thanh Duoc, Huu Phuoc, Thanh Hai, Diep Lang, Thanh Nga, Hung Minh … Almost 70 years into his career, he has performed for large singing groups such as Kim Chuong, Thanh Minh – Thanh. His deep voice and bright appearance, he is the adopted son of Phung Ha, one of the ancestors of the southern riches, he has all the factors to become the main and double smell.
