On December 18, the Police Department investigating corruption, economy and smuggling crimes (C03, Ministry of Public Security) cooperated with the Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05), Quang Ninh Provincial Police has implemented with a project to destroy smuggling lines and illegally transport goods across the border in Quang Ninh province was successful.
The specialized committee identified this smuggling line led by Dao Van Chap, who resides in Ka Long neighborhood, Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh.
According to information from C03, this special project was destroyed in the process of implementing the peak plan to combat crime suppression during the Lunar New Year, which was directed by the Minister of Public Security.
This smuggling line is particularly large in scale, illegally transporting goods across the border and then leading to many provinces and cities across the country.
Every day, the people involved in this line transport and trade around 200 tons of goods of all kinds, worth tens of billions of dong. The types of goods that this group of people trade and transport are very diverse, including: clothing, fabrics, cosmetics, auto parts, motorcycles, electronic items …

Through the initial struggle for exploitation, the specialized committee has controlled more than 30 people in the smuggling line and seized more than 300 tons of merchandise.
At the same time, the project board also organized many other reconnaissance missions to register warehouses in Hanoi, Hung Yen … and seized almost 200 tons of cargo, 20 container trucks and assorted trucks.
The investigating agency said it was a large-scale smuggling case that occurred at the official border gate. Currently, C03 continues to cooperate with the units to expand the investigation.
