Many Parisians took to social media to share about hearing “a huge explosion” allegedly heard in “all of the capital and suburban areas.” “The explosion” shook the buildings.
However, French police said on Twitter on September 30 that the noise heard in Paris that same day was the sound of the plane crossing the wall, not an explosion.
They urged people to stop calling emergency management agencies due to the noise mentioned above to avoid disturbing the communication line.

According to a spokesman for the French Defense Ministry, the sound of thunder came from a Rafale fighter, which then accelerated to support another aircraft that had lost radio communication.
“A Rafale assisted a plane that lost radio communication and was allowed to cross the wall of sound to reach the problem plane,” said a French air force spokesman.
The sound was also recorded in the video of the tennis match between players Stan Wawrinka and Dominik Koepfer in the second round of the Open Solution 2020.
In the video, Koepfer was seen shortening his serve and looking up after hearing the sound. The game was interrupted for a few minutes.
