After several weeks of trying to prevent Britain from returning to a lockdown due to economic damage, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was forced to issue a nationwide lockdown on January 5 (Vietnam time).

This is the third time that the UK has to block, and this time is expected to last 6 weeks, that is until mid-February. Before there was a national blockade, Great Britain imposed a local blockade that affected some 44 million people.

However, these measures have not been able to prevent a new outbreak of outbreaks caused by the VOC 202012/01 variant of the coronavirus.

The UK Prime Minister maintains that current measures are not enough and that stricter measures must be taken while the Oxford / AstraZeneca vaccine is implemented. “I think this is the last time we have faced so many difficulties,” Johnson assured citizens.

According to the Guardian, the British parliament will meet and enact tough measures against the epidemic on January 6. However, a series of measures began to take effect as soon as they were announced.

The new measures are similar to those of the first blockade that lasted three months from the end of March to June of last year. Residents should work from home whenever possible, not going outside except to purchase essentials, exercise, or face life-threatening situations.

All elementary, middle, and college schools will be closed starting January 6. The UK Prime Minister confirmed that the new variant of the corona virus does not affect children much. However, to ensure safety, teaching and learning will take place remotely from January 5 to the end of February.

Currently, the UK government has not made the final decision on whether to take the national graduation exam for high school students as usual or not. Johnson said the information will be available after consulting with the education minister and certification bodies.

Other stringent measures included the closure of non-essential retail stores and hotels until February 15. Restaurants and some pubs may still operate, but only for take out or online delivery.

Certain crowded outdoor sports, tennis courts and golf courses will be prohibited during this period, except in professional tournaments such as the Premier League.
