Last year, my income dropped dramatically.” Even the bus station had to reduce labor due to the impact of the epidemic, some employees had to move to the new Mien Dong bus station. On the way to buy a ticket to Gia Lai, Mr. Duong Van Nhan (52 years old) confided: “Last year’s economy caused everyone to be in trouble, I also lingered for several months as a security guard. As PV Thanh Nien pointed out, at 12:30 pm on December 31 at the Mien Tay bus station (Binh Tan district), the number of people entering the station was increasing. Most people are aware of epidemic prevention with medical masks. The bus station guard regularly measures the temperature for incoming and outgoing visitors.
“I intend to go back to my hometown earlier, but today I have to take the midterm exam. I packed my clothes, just finished the exam, and ran to the bus station. I didn’t buy a ticket in advance because I didn’t think it would be that full, I thought it wouldn’t be a problem if I could go back to my hometown for a long time, ”said Nguyen Ngoc Tuong Vy (21, from Soc Trang).
Working as a worker in Binh Tan, Mr. Duy Phuc (32 years old, from Dong Thap) takes advantage of the New Year with his wife and children to go home to visit their parents. “Even though it’s only been 3 days when I go home, being around my parents is fine. My father is not in good health at the moment, so my family takes this opportunity to visit him. After that, my wife and I continued to work here to earn more money for the Lunar New Year, “added Mr. Phuc.
Mr. Tran Nhan Hau – Head of the West Bus Station Ticket Office said that on December 31, the number of visitors coming here increased compared to normal. “The bus station is expected to receive between 30,000 and 32,000 passengers, an increase of 26% compared to normal days. However, it is equal to normal days compared to the time before the epidemic, ”added Mr. Hau.
