On November 10, the Popular Council of Soc Trang Province, Period IX, Period 2016-2021, held the 21st session (thematic meeting).
At this meeting, the delegates voted to agree to remove Mr. Tran Van Chuyen from the post of chairman of the Soc Trang Provincial People’s Committee under the regime.

Mr. Tran Van Lau (50 years old), is from My Xuyen District, Soc Trang Province. Bachelor of Politics, High-level political theory.
Before being elected Chairman of the People’s Committee of Soc Trang Province, Mr. Tran Van Lau used to hold positions such as: Platoon Leader of the Phu Loi Battalion; Political Deputy Director of the Provincial Military Command; Politician of the Long Phu District Military Command; Deputy Political Commissar and later Political Commissar of the Soc Trang Province Military Command.
At the Soc Trang Province Party Congress, for the period 2015-2020, Mr. Tran Van Lau was elected a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Provincial Committee and at the same time held the position of Commander of the Provincial Military Command.
Recently, at the XIV Party Congress of Soc Trang Province, for the period 2020-2025, Mr. Tran Van Lau was elected Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Soc Trang.
