The Health Ministry said that in the afternoon of December 31, Vietnam registered nine more new cases. COVID-19 (BN1457-1465) was quarantined immediately after entry into Hai Duong (1), Binh Duong (5), Ho Chi Minh City (2), Hanoi (1). Specifically:
– Case 1457 (BN1457) registered in the province of Hai Duong: Male, 27 years old, Vietnamese nationality, domicile in the district of Tu Son, province of Bac Ninh. On December 28, a patient from Japan entered Van Don Airport on flight VN311, quarantined in Hai Duong province just after entry. Test results on December 29 at the Hai Duong Province Center for Disease Control and December 30 at the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology were positive for SARS-CoV-2. Currently, the patient is in isolation and treated at Hai Duong Tropical Diseases Hospital.
– Case 1458 (BN1458) registered in Binh Duong province: female, 27 years old, Vietnamese nationality, domicile in Hai Hau district, Nam Dinh province.
– Case 1459 (BN1459) registered in Binh Duong province: 26-year-old woman, Vietnamese nationality, domicile in Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi.
– Case 1460 (BN1460) registered in Binh Duong province: female, 37 years old, Vietnamese nationality, domicile in Yen Mo district, Ninh Binh province.
– Case 1461 (BN1461) registered in Binh Duong province: male, 31 years old, Vietnamese nationality, domicile in Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province.
– Case 1462 (BN1462) registered in Binh Duong province: Male, 40 years old, Vietnamese nationality, domicile in Long Xuyen city, An Giang province.
BN1458-1462 from France entered Tan Son Nhat airport on December 16 on flight number VN5010, isolated in Binh Duong province immediately after entry. The first test results on December 17 were negative, the second time on December 30 at the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City was positive for SARS-CoV-2. Currently, patients are isolated and treated at Binh Duong General Hospital.

– Case 1463 (BN1463) registered with HCMC: Female, 43 years old, Vietnamese nationality, domicile in Ngo Quyen district, Hai Phong. Patients from Canada transited through Incheon Airport (Korea), then entered Tan Son Nhat Airport on December 29 on flight number VN405, isolated in Ho Chi Minh City immediately after entry. Test results on December 30 at the Center for Disease Control at HCMC were positive for SARS-CoV-2. Currently, the patient is isolated and treated at the Cu Chi Field Hospital.
– Case 1464 (BN1464) registered in Ho Chi Minh City: Male, 38 years old, Vietnamese nationality, domicile in the city of Vinh, Nghe An province. The patient from Mozambique who transited through Qatar, then entered the Tan Son Nhat airport On December 30 on flight QR970, he was isolated in Ho Chi Minh City immediately after entry. Test results on December 30 at the Center for Disease Control at HCMC were positive for SARS-CoV-2. Currently, the patient is isolated and treated at the Cu Chi Field Hospital.
More than 17,000 people are in quarantine to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic
– Case 1465 (BN1465) registered in Hanoi: Woman, 61 years old, Vietnamese nationality, domicile in Vung Tau city, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province. Patients from the US entered Noi Bai Airport on December 21 on flight VN415, isolated in Hanoi immediately after entry. The test result on December 1 on December 22 was negative, and for the second time on December 29, the test result on December 31, the Hanoi Center for Disease Control was positive for SARS-CoV -2. Currently, the patient is isolated and treated at Dong Anh Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
So far, the country has registered 1,465 cases of Covid-19, of which 693 cases were caused by domestic infection, 4 cases were entered illegally, the remaining cases were quarantined immediately after entry. Currently, the total number of people in close contact with and entry from the epidemic area under medical supervision (isolated) is 17,267.
During the day, the disease was announced for 2 more patients (BN1344, BN1384), bringing the number of cured cases to 1,325 cases. The number of deaths was 35.
