Almost 50,000 cases of nCoV in Southeast Asia

Southeast Asia recorded 1,308 additional cases of nCoV, bringing the number of infected people across the region to 49,919, of whom 1,671 were dead.

Singapore, the largest epidemic area in the region, reported 573 new cases of nCoV today, marking the eleventh consecutive day of new infections below 1,000, bringing the total to 18,778. Indonesia, the country with the highest number of nCoV deaths in Southeast Asia, reported 19 more cases today, bringing the total number of deaths across the country to 864. The country is currently at 11,587, an increase of 395 cases. compared to the previous day.

The country has conducted nearly 117,000 tests, but experts are still concerned that the number of people infected and dying from nCoV in Indonesia may be much higher than the statistics.

Philippines nCoV caused an additional 262 cases and 16 deaths, bringing the total number of cases and deaths to 9,485 and 623, respectively.

Malaysia they recorded 55 more cases, a significant decrease compared to the previous day, bringing the total number of people infected with nCoV across the country to 6,353. No more deaths in the country in the last 24 hours, the number of people who die from Covid-19 is still 105.

The Malaysian government today allows most companies to resume operations, partially reducing the restrictions imposed to prevent Covid-19 from spreading. However, commercial activities with a large number of participants and close contact with Ramadan cinema and market have not been allowed to open. Schools at all levels continue to close.

Thailand detected 19 more cases of nCoV, bringing the total to 2,987, ending a week of registering new cases below 10. There were no additional deaths in the last 24 hours, keeping the number of deaths caused by nCoV at 54 cases since the outbreak in January.

Thailand still decided to extend the national emergency to respond to Covid-19 until the end of May, despite positive changes in the disease situation.

Vietnam, Cambodia, East Timor and Laos are the countries that have not recorded deaths due to nCoV.
