Tonight, October 28, the Office of the National Committee for Response to Incidents and Disasters and Search and Rescue, Department of Rescue and Rescue (Ministry of National Defense), said that related to the search and rescue of fishermen in 2 Fishing boat Binh Dinh, Ranger 96388 TS and CP 97469 TS, sunk in an area about 170 nautical miles east of Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), causing the disappearance of 26 fishermen on storm route No. 9, the same day. The defense dispatched DHC-6 aircraft, number 772, of the 954 Brigade (Marine Corps) to coordinate the search and rescue, and instructed the targets for the surface ships.
The plane took off at 1:37 p.m., but after 1 hour and 30 minutes in the search area, no targets were detected, so it landed safely at 4:55 p.m. the same day.
Also related to this incident, following the order of the Ministry of Defense, today the Marine Corps sent 3 boats from Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa) to the search and rescue area.
Navy ships are expected to approach the scene tonight to search for 26 missing fishermen.
