“The water that comes from upstream is flowing in a torrential way… Seeing the water coming up to my chest and my husband, holding his son and running. The water rose so fast that it washed away the house of the family of three of us, ”Ngo Truc Ha said through tears.
According to the Phu Yen Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, due to the influence of Typhoon No. 12 and flooding, 1 person disappeared; 02 people were injured.
In the house, 62 houses collapsed, damaged and their roofs blew off. Currently, there are about 15,000 houses in Tuy An, Dong Xuan and TX. The Cau River was flooded.
In Dong Xuan District, in some places the flood has completely subsided, but when it returned, it washed away people’s houses and property. Many people fell in the sun shining on the ground, after the fierce flood that arrived since the afternoon of November 10.
Looking at the home of a family of 3 washed away by the floods, Ms. Ngo Truc Ha, who lives in Long An Village, TT. La Hai (H. Dong Xuan, Phu Yen) could not hide her tears.
According to Ms. Ha, this is the second time flooding has washed away the house. So, hearing the news of the floods, she and everyone together brought the property. However, the floodwaters on the Ky Lo River increased very rapidly, causing the whole family to “back off and not in time”, just looking at the rapidly flowing water that washed away all assets.
“It was around 12 o’clock at the end of the storm, my family knew there was flooding, so they were in a hurry to clean up some electronics. Who would expect the water to rise quickly, then it went through the chest? At that point, my husband and I had time to hug our children and we ran down the train tracks to escape. The house was gradually absorbed by the floods and washed away everything “- said Ha.
Also being “attacked” by violent floods, the residence of the family of 4 Ngo Truc Nguyen sisters (near Ms. Ha’s house) now has only a few bricks of rubble. Looking at the remains, Ms. Nguyen was concerned and did not know where she would live in the next few days.
“The flood rushed in, in the blink of an eye it took everything away. My family now 4 people do not know where to live. I hope the state will consider and support the resettlement site so that we can do business safely, ”wishes Ms. Nguyen.
Talk about 2 houses washed away by floods in Long An Village, TT. La Hai, Mr. Le Trung Chanh, vice chairman of the Dong Xuan District People’s Committee, said the two houses are located near the river, the government does not issue building permits, the households only build temporary houses to live and trade. However, the flood came, it washed away everything, looking at the houses was very sad.
“In the next time, the district will consider bringing these 2 homes to the resettlement area, not letting people live in this area anymore, very dangerous if the flood returns quickly,” Chanh said.
Directly inspecting work to overcome the aftermath of Typhoon 12 and the floods in Dong Xuan District, Mr. Pham Dai Duong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Phu Yen Province People’s Committee, asked the localities that actively help people. overcome the consequences of natural disasters in heavily damaged regions; organizing visits to encourage families with injured and damaged families.
