The Hanoi Health Department recorded a positive case on the night of March 25, once it was “patient 1555” in Ba Dinh district.

This 86-year-old patient entered the United States, was isolated in Da Nang City, and treated at Da Nang Lung Hospital from January 27 to February 16. After being cured, the patient was quarantined for another 14 days at Da Nang Lung Hospital at 1/3 with negative test results 5 times.

After that, the patient returned to Thanh Cong’s dormitory, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi and underwent a 2-week isolation at his home.

On March 21, the patient examined and treated the tumors of the left kidney at Huu Nghi Hospital. During treatment, the patient developed cough symptoms, was taken by the hospital to take an nCoV sample and transferred to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for testing in Hanoi, and had a positive result on March 25.

Currently, the patient is being transferred for treatment at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2.

Previously, from February 25 to March 2, the city had registered two re-positive cases. With re-positives recently recorded, through community testing and close family contacts of these patients, no transmission was reported.

Currently, Hanoi has 38 days with no new cases registered in the community. From January 27 to now, the city has registered 39 cases of Covid-19, including 35 community cases and 4 immigration cases.

6,690 healthcare workers in Hanoi were vaccinated with AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine for the first injection, starting the morning of March 25, reaching 94.3% of the plan.
