The Tam Chuc Pagoda is full of tourists

Tam Chuc is the largest temple in Vietnam, located in the Kim Bang district, Ha Nam province, about 60 km from the center of Hanoi. Due to the Covid-19 pause, it is the beginning of the second month of the lunar calendar, the number of visitors arriving at the temple increases dramatically. People have to wait in long lines for trams or get on boats to get from the parking lot to the temple.

More than 400 electric vehicles are running continuously but cannot keep up with demand. The board of directors of the Tam Chuc Pagoda has to increase 30 passenger cars with 45 seats and at the same time stop selling tram tickets and boat tickets three times to reduce the passenger load. At 14:30, the number of visitors continued to increase, the management decided to stop selling tickets, free shipping.

Places like Tam Quan Gate, Temple Garden, Quan Am Palace, Phap Chu Temple, Tam Palace and Ngoc Pagoda are full of tourists. Many people do not wear masks to prevent epidemics, although the speaker system constantly reminds guests to wash their hands, wear masks, and stay away.

Venerable Thich Minh Quang, Deputy Abbot of Tam Chuc Pagoda, estimated the number of visitors today at more than 60,000, 3 times the number of visitors in the entire lunar month. The temple has arranged 20 points of distribution of free masks, 700 volunteers to measure body temperature, help guests to report directly on medical issues and through a QR code.

“The temple has tried its best to meet the spiritual needs of the people. However, due to the sudden increase in the number of visitors, it is difficult to avoid some overcrowded areas. I hope that everyone will happily make time for sightseeing. The pagoda to meet the requirements of the translation room, “said Venerable Thich Minh Quang.

According to Venerable Thich Minh Quang, the next time the temple adds a diversion plan, it will mobilize more volunteers on weekends and holidays to avoid stasis and ensure epidemic prevention.

Due to Covid-19, this year, the Tam Chuc Pagoda did not hold the opening ceremony, but still opened to receive guests.
