On February 17, Kon Kum village held a “Buffalo Barn Tet” festival attended by about 20 people.
A few days later, many people had symptoms of headaches, stomach pain and vomiting, so they were taken to hospital for treatment. However, 2 people who did not survive are Mr. AV (36 years old) and Mrs. YN (65 years old). Doctors diagnosed the cause of death as respiratory failure, encephalitis, pneumonia. As for Ms. YK (64 years old), after returning home from a party, she had abdominal pain, back pain, exhausted physical condition, but did not go to the doctor, did not take medication, and died at home. Ms. Y Mai (AV’s sister) said that at the party, the villagers ate chicken, frog meat, fish, and drank wine.
Currently, there are 18 cases that are being treated and cared for in the district health center. All cases are stable, with no unusual symptoms. Kon Tum Health Sector is still investigating the cause of the incident.
