On February 4, the Thanh Xuan District Police Investigations Police Agency (Hanoi) said that it processed the case and prosecuted the defendant against Dao Trong Hiep (24, who resides in Dinh Hoa District, Province of Thai Nguyen) for “rape” behavior.
According to the investigation, in October 2020, Ms M. (from Thai Nguyen) was acquainted with Dao Trong Hiep through social media. On the night of November 2, the two met in Hanoi and invited each other to drink water and eat in the evening.
At around 11:30 PM, M. told Hiep to bring him back, Hiep drove and then stopped in front of a motel and requested, but M. disagreed and left.
He half pulled M. back to threaten and hit M. M. cried for forgiveness, but Hiep strangled M. and forced her to get on a motorcycle.
M. tries to ask her relatives for help over the phone. Hiep found out, shook the phone, and put it in his pocket. Hiep then took M. to the motel and raped her.
After that, Hiep rented a car for M. to go home. On the morning of November 3, the victim went to the police station to report. Police entered the investigation and arrested Hiep.
At the investigative agency, Hiep confessed that he intended to invite M. to the motel for sexual intercourse, but he did not agree, so he beat M. to force him to enter the motel.
