On January 30, the Cau Giay District (Hanoi) police said they prosecuted the defendant and arrested Bui Van Tan (32, from Kien Xuong District, Thai Binh Province) to investigate the rape charges.
According to the investigation, during an outing, Tan met his friend, Hoa (renamed, a vocal student at a Hanoi university). Recently, Ms. Hoa has been going crazy over her lover, which is why Tan often texted her asking.
On the afternoon of January 17, Tan drove a car to pick up Ms. Hoa and returned to Thai Binh City for the wedding and the show.
After celebrating the wedding at 9 pm on the same day, Ms. Hoa told Tan to take her back to Hanoi to go to school. Along the way, Tan repeatedly touched Hoa with his hand, but she reacted harshly.
Then Tan used reason to stop by the house to burn incense for his father. After returning home, Tan took Ms. Hoa to Hanoi.
At approximately 0 o’clock, Tan stopped the car on a deserted road in Thai Binh city and then used a cloth to tie Hoa’s hand behind the seat and played a game of corruption. After that, Tan took the victim to a nearby hotel and continued raping.
At noon on January 18, Tan took Hoa to his room in Hanoi. Tan continued to rent a hotel in Tran Quoc Vuong street (Cau Giay district) and sent a threatening text message if Ms. Hoa did not come to the hotel to “serve”, Tan would post “hot” photos at the hotel in Thai Binh . Go online and send it to your boyfriend.
Due to fear, on the night of January 18, Ms. Hoa had to go to the hotel and was played by Tan many times. The following afternoon, the victim reported the entire incident to the police.
Upon receiving the news, the Cau Giay district police urgently investigated and arrested Bui Van Tan. At the police station, Tan confessed to all the criminal acts.
