According to the AFP news agency, more than 100 cases of infection in Jilin province were related to the infectious personnel mentioned above. Two cities with nearly 3 million inhabitants in Jilin were blocked on January 18, bringing the total number of people blocked in northeast China to almost 19 million.

Residents in blocked areas are prohibited from leaving their homes and are only allowed to go out to buy basic necessities once every 3 days.

Epidemiological investigations in Jilin province showed that more than 100 cases in the province involved a product marketing officer. He came from nearby Heilongjiang Province and went to two cities in Jilin to hold sales seminars. The Heilongjiang government declared a state of emergency last week due to an increase in cases.

The Chinese government’s People’s Daily has criticized the super-infectious patient, saying he is greedy, willing to “risk his life for money under the guise of taking care of the health of the elderly.”

According to the initial investigation, the superinfectious staff organized many “invigorating middle-aged and elderly” product promotion sessions at medical centers in both cities. Currently, the authorities have left open the possibility of handling superinfectious patients, but have considered the responsibility of the medical center to shake hands to open the conference.

China’s Xinhua news agency expressed concern that the country may “break the battle” due to neglect against the epidemic in rural areas. Although China has basically controlled COVID-19, the new outbreaks that have emerged in recent weeks have put tens of millions of people on lockdown.
