Goalkeeper Dang Van Lam said goodbye to Muangthong United and joined the Cerezo Osaka club playing in J-League 1.
Dang Van Lam has agreed to join Cerezo Osaka. The launch date has not been agreed by the two parties due to the difficulty of organizing the travel program from Thailand to Japan due to Covid-19.
Van Lam’s contract with Muangthong United is valid until November 2021. But the Thai League postponed the match due to the pandemic, and the foreign soldiers had to agree to postpone the contract term until May 2022. Therefore, Cerezo Osaka had to spend a lot of money to buy the Van Lam contract.
Van Lam is the fourth Vietnamese player to play in Japan, after Le Cong Vinh (Consadole Sapporo), Nguyen Tuan Anh (Yokohama FC) and Nguyen Cong Phuong (Mito Hollyhock). However, he was the first to have a chance to play in J-League 1, Japan’s highest league, three players before having played in J-League 2 alone.
Van Lam was born in 1993, of a Vietnamese father, of a Russian mother. He returned to Vietnam in 2011, but was unsuccessful with the HAGL jersey. The overseas Vietnamese goalkeeper used to retire but was invited by Hai Phong in 2015. During four years playing soccer at Lach Tray, he shone and was called up by coach Park Hang-seo and became the number one goalkeeper of the national team. . .
Van Lam joined Muangthong United in June 2019.
