This is the fourth time that the Prime Minister has come directly to the Trung Luong – My Thuan Highway to inspect, speed up and motivate officials, engineers and construction workers.

The Prime Minister said that the Trung Luong – My Thuan highway project encountered many difficulties. Trung Luong: My Thuan Highway started in 2009, is more than 51 km long and passes through 5 districts of Tien Giang. This is a key project to reduce the load on National Highway 1A. The highway is one of the arteries connecting the southwestern region with Ho Chi Minh City and the southern key economic region.
The project has a total capital of more than 14 billion dong, and is expected to be completed in 2013. However, due to lack of investor capacity, the project has been delayed. After many changes of project management agency and investors from the Ministry of Transport to the Tien Giang People’s Committee, the adjusted project capital is more than VND 12 billion.
