Patient 1495 (BN1495), male, 26 years old, Vietnamese nationality (Dien Nguyen commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province). On December 20, a patient from Japan entered Tan Son Nhat airport on flight VN5031, was immediately quarantined and examined in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.

In the second test on January 3, the patient tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. Currently the patient is isolated and treated at the Long Dien District Medical Center, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province.

Patient 1496 (BN1496), female, 40 years old, Vietnamese nationality (Vi Xuyen neighborhood, Nam Dinh province).

On December 30, the two previous patients from Germany entered Tan Son Nhat Airport on flight VN30, immediately quarantined and took samples for testing in Ho Chi Minh City. Positive test result for SARS-CoV-2. Currently, 2 patients are in isolation and treated at the Ho Chi Minh City Children’s Hospital.

Previously, on the previous flight, 5 positive cases for SARS-CoV-2, isolated in Binh Duong, were recorded.

According to the report of the Treatment Subcommittee, the National Steering Committee for the prevention and control of the epidemic, COVID-19, Vietnam currently cures 1,339 / 1,497 patients.

The total number of people in close contact and entry from the epidemic area under sanitary surveillance (isolated) in our country is 19,055. Of which 152 isolated people met at the hospital; 17,234 isolated people met in another facility and 1,669 isolated at home and at the residence.

Among COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment, 9 were 1st negative, 6 2nd negative, and 5 3rd negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. There are no more serious cases in the country.

The death toll so far is 35, including 31 people in Da Nang, 3 people in Quang Nam, and 1 person in Quang Tri. Most of them are elderly, with serious medical conditions such as end-stage chronic kidney failure, end-stage blood cancer without chemical response, coronary syndrome, acute respiratory failure, degenerative polyarthritis, hyperemia pressure, chronic adrenal insufficiency, type 2 diabetes, sepsis, pneumonia, exhaustion, multiple organ failure.
