Before his death, Mr. H. (65 years old) had a period of treatment at Nguyen Khoa Oriental Medicine Clinic at Address 2, Phuoc Kien Residential Area, Nha Be District.

At around 10:00 AM on November 29, 2020, Mr. H. went to the Nguyen Khoa Oriental Medicine Clinic to treat his leg joint pain.

At approximately 11:00 on the same day, Ms. T.’s family received information from the clinic, Mr. H. suffered severe burns and had to go to Nha Be Hospital for an emergency.

After that, Mr. H. was transferred to Cho Ray Hospital for emergency treatment with 30% burns to the face, body, extremities, and respiratory tract.

On the afternoon of November 30, 2020, Mr. H. was no longer able to heal and dilate his pupils, and his family brought him back to take care of business.

Ms. T. said that after the incident, Mr. V. – who treated his father, visited and asked his family not to sue, to accept compensation. However, after that, Mr. V. was intimidated and did not compensate as agreed.

“The incident occurred over a month ago, but at that time, Mr. V. pleaded with his family and promised to compensate, so I did not file a lawsuit. However, after that, Mr. V. did not do what he promised. However, the amount of compensation for the family is not important. We will wait for a sentence to be handed down to bring justice to my father ”, said Mrs. T. urgently.

Mr. V. confirmed that there was an incident in which Mr. H. suffered burns during the steam bath. Mr. V. said that between the clinic and the victim there was a contract for the treatment of back pain for more than 2 months because Mr. H. had a herniated disc.

After the incident, Mr. V. took over the cost of the treatment and will compensate 600 million VND for the victim’s family, planning to split it into 2 payments within 2 months.

According to Mr. V., on the date of the first paid appointment, Ms. T. did not agree to meet.

Regarding the authorization of the Nguyen Khoa Oriental Medicine Clinic, Ms Nguyen Thi Huynh Mai, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Health Department, said: “We have just received information and will check it later.”

On the morning of January 4, the Ho Chi Minh City police agency and Health Department went to the clinic to investigate the incident.
