The Thanh Xuan District Police (Hanoi) found that a driver of the van assaulted the young man because he was asked to stop waiting for the red light for too long and said he was not a police officer.
The above information was given by Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Tuan Thanh, Thanh Xuan District Police Chief on the afternoon of 3.1.
“We are bringing this person from Lao Cai to Hanoi to serve in the investigation,” Lieutenant Colonel Thanh said.
According to the Thanh Xuan District Police Chief, a van driver assaulted a young man named Long (48 years old), a self-employed worker.
Previously, the unit received a report on the incident at the Nguyen Trai – Khuat Duy Tien intersection (Thanh Xuan district). After almost two days of searching, the police found the abuser in Lao Cai province.
Regarding the fact that it was spread on the social network that the truck driver is a police lieutenant who works in the Criminal Police Team (Thanh Xuan District Police), Lieutenant Colonel Thanh dismissed and said that the information that affects police.
“We are determined to find and strictly deal with them,” confirmed Lt. Col. Thanh.
Earlier on the night of January 1, a post appeared on the social network Facebook, stating that a male driver was assaulted in the middle of an intersection due to a traffic conflict.
According to the article, at around 9:00 p.m. on December 31, 2020, the van moved from the curve of the causeway (Belt 3) to the intersection of Nguyen Trai – Khuat Duy Tien (Thanh Xuan District).
At that point, the male driver of the BKS 29C-583.95 van stopped, parked the red light, and waited to go straight on into the left turn.
After 2-3 traffic light turns, the truck is still not moving, causing the vehicles behind it to be congested and blocked by long lines. Seeing that, another driver behind him got off the bus and reminded him of when a van driver assaulted him in the middle of the intersection.
The driver of the van repeatedly struck himself in the face and head, causing the victim to break his teeth, tear his forehead and be hospitalized. After the fight, the truck driver left the scene.
