These people are under 24-hour surveillance in a medical isolation room. After the quarantine period, An Giang Province Police will arrest and travel to the town for investigation.
According to an initial investigation file, Hung was linked by a person named Quay in Cambodia to bring people from Cambodia to Vietnam. After that, Hung joined forces with Tai, Dinh, and Dam to use motorcycles for those who crossed the border to take them to designated areas in Vietnam.
Furthermore, Hung also connects with Trang Van Ut to prepare cars to take people illegally crossing the border to Chau Doc city or other places as needed.
These 5 people are identified as organizing a group of 9 people who illegally crossed the border from Cambodia into An Phu district, An Giang, on the morning of December 24. Among those who crossed the border, 4 out of 9 people were infected with COVID-19 and hundreds of F1 and F2 cases.
After entering illegally and becoming infected with COVID-19, the people involved made a dishonest report, making it difficult for authorities to investigate the epidemiology.
On the morning of the same day, the Vinh Long Provincial Police Investigation Agency also issued a decision to prosecute the case to investigate the act of ‘spreading dangerous infectious diseases to people’ related to patient 1440.
Two cases are currently being investigated according to regulations.
